Fred Linz is the third-generation Linz to lead our 60-year-old premier meat purveying company. Before becoming CEO, he worked his way through operations, learning every aspect of the family business. Fred officially joined Meats by Linz in 1985 and quickly became an integral voice in shifting the operations focus from a local butcher shop to wholesale food service. He has focused heavily on building partnerships throughout the white tablecloth industry and proudly services some of the most iconic steakhouses around the world. In 2012, Fred saw the need for quality and consistency in the industry and created the Linz Heritage Angus program. It became his mission to control every aspect of the process with best-in-class genetics sourced from Linz Heritage Angus at Blue Branch Ranch and taking part ownership in a feed yard, Timpas Feeders. He paired all of that with his family’s world-class processing facility – ultimately creating a conception-to-plate experience like no other. Fred operates the company under the expression, “At Meats by Linz, our goal isn’t to be the biggest, it’s to be the best.”
